As the Statewide Magistrate DWI Drug Court Coordinator, directed and expanded the Drug Court which is a problem-solving solution that helps alcohol and drug addicted individuals get and stay sober and clean without imprisonment. Fifty percent of the nearly 2.5 million people incarcerated in the US are in jail because of drug use and addiction. With a 75% nationwide success rate, drug court is a sensible, most inexpensive, proven alternative to protect public safety by breaking the cycle of addiction.
When Chief Executive Officer for the Seventh Judicial District Court in the counties of Socorro, Sierra, Catron and Torrance managed a staff of 21 employees and a budget of $5.5 million.
While serving as the Chief Financial Officer for the Third Judicial District Court in the county of Doña Ana successfully managed all fiscal and budget functions for 7 judges and 56 employees.
As Fiscal Officer for the Mining and Minerals Division of the Energy, Minerals & Natural Resources Department managed state-wide fiscal operations for the responsible utilization, conservation, reclamation and safeguarding of land and resources affected by mining.
When elected twice by the citizens of Doña Ana County to be Doña Ana County Treasurer, oversaw the collection and management of approximately $12 million in tax revenues from nearly 78,000 properties.
As Grant Administrator for multiple agencies wrote and managed an extensive array of complex grant projects funding local roads, water and sewer systems, and community buildings including the La Casa Domestic Violence Shelter.
